The Wine & Country Club is the answer to the prayers of nature, superb cuisine and fine wine lovers. The project founders identified the need for a residential alternative that was along the lines of a stone bastide property looking across beautifully maintained vines and offered a change in lifestyle. This led the team to design exquisite wine properties where residents could easily embrace the slow life movement.

How did they pull that off? With a French borrowed concept brought to the Spanish residential arena …

A French Château? Better Yet, A Wine Property In Ronda

Staunch followers of the French château—a vineyard estate with a large country house, where accommodation is guaranteed, and not only temporarily—will find that essence on the wine estates available at The Wine & Country Club.

A French château is defined by the architectural features typical of a vineyard estate. Particularly used in the Bordeaux area, it literally translates as ‘castle’. Its intrinsic meaning is a historic building or a property in the shape of a feudal castle. For the wine to be recognised as château, it must be made with grapes from the property’s vineyard – a requirement of this French denomination.

The Wine & Country Club offers wine estates ranging from 5 to 7 hectares, with their distinctive character and beautifully nestled in a meadow landscape in Spain, specifically in the South of the peninsula, in charming Ronda (Malaga).

The properties’ architectural features are defined based on the tastes, preferences and needs of their future owners. These contrasting properties are characterised by classic and traditional styling, or unique contemporary design, offering an exquisite layout—which blends outdoor and indoor areas harmoniously—, an abundance of light, best-in-class quality specifications and finishes, and state-of-the-art energy-efficient systems. The prestigious architectural firm Torras & Sierra is behind this outstanding residential scheme.

All properties will feature a private hobby vineyard, a large swimming pool, and the possibility of having an organic vegetable garden and orchard.

The scheme comprises up to 28 wine properties where residents can embrace a new lifestyle in tune with nature and wine. They are always supported by a team of dedicated experts who ease property owners into the wine-making aspect, and help them to turn their grapes into award-winning vintage wines—be them red, white or rosé. Ana de Castro and her trusted staff are experts in helping owners create their insanely delicious private label wine.

Property owners will also benefit from the help of Verónique Gladstone and her team for the growing and monitoring of their organic kitchen gardens. The freshest seasonal greens will always be available for residents to enjoy thanks to the field-to-fork philosophy that The Wine & Country Club advocates.

A Discerning Buyer’s Choice

Located in an idyllic setting, La Caldera sprawls out over 750 square metres of well laid out house, arranged over two floors where the privacy of each space is guaranteed. The main floor features three bedrooms—each one grander than the last and an absolute haven of peace and tranquillity, designed in a warm and inviting colour scheme that creates an ambiance of relaxation and sophistication—and three bathrooms that purvey a wonderful ambiance of relaxation.

The living area also boasts an office, a library, a spacious and elegant glazed living room, and a kitchen with breakfast bar that opens onto one of the property’s many porches.

The basement boasts the true essence of this wine property, the jewel in the crown – the wine cellar (in addition to a utility room, a bathroom, more outdoor spaces and the garage). The wine cellar features two rooms: a storage area and a social area where residents and their friends can sip some fine private label wines.

A large wrap-around patio surrounded by the impressive 400-square metre outdoor spaces dotted with ancient oaks and olive trees links both floors.

In short, La Caldera is the perfect property to go live, commune with nature and enjoy a quality life full of fine wine.
