Discover Your New Territory

The Wine & Country Club cast eyes on Ronda for a number of reasons, among which excellent transport links to the rest of Spain and Europe, and the exceptionally beautiful wildflower meadowland, which affords sweeping panoramas of the Serrania mountainscape.

Malaga, the province’s capital city and one of the most beautiful towns in Andalusia, is just 100 kilometres away. The birthplace of many a famous literary giant, great artist and world-famous face, the city and its lovely old streets to meander are rich in Mudejar history and heritage. Visit Picasso’s hometown, and immerse yourself in modern art at the Pompidou and in urban art in Soho Malaga-Barrio de las Artes. Succumb to hunger by indulging in the local traditional gastronomy at landmark venues and in the famous Atarazanas Market. Yell “Ship ahoy!” in Muelle Uno, and shop ’til you drop at high street stores in Calle Larios.

Had enough of the city’s hustle and bustle for a day? Then head down to the beach for some fun in the sun. In less than one hour you will have made it to sophisticated Marbella and its exclusive Puerto Banus area, or Estepona – Malaga’s jewel in the crown. Fringed with palm trees, very safe for kids and lapped by crystal clear turquoise waters, Malaga’s sandy beaches are every bit as inviting as any in the Caribbean.

With no shortage of leisure and sports pursuits, the Sierra de Grazalema and Sierra de las Nieves offer endless hiking and mountain biking routes. The area also boasts an abundance of golf courses and offers sailing to suit all levels of experience – all only a stone’s throw away.

Beyond Malaga province, Ronda also benefits from good transport links to other parts of Andalusia—including stately Seville, charming Cadiz, majestic Cordoba, or captivating Granada. Worth a visit are also Jaen’s famous olive groves and Huelva’s Costa de la Luz – both are a short 150-minute drive.

Beyond Andalusia

Ronda’s close proximity to Malaga is highly convenient if you need to travel beyond the region. Extremely well served by public transport—by train or via the Costa del Sol international airport—, Ronda brings you closer to any region. Take the train and in little less than two and a half hours you will find yourself in vibrant Madrid. Catch the first plane out to Barcelona and in just one hour and a half you can be enjoying the city’s cultural diversity.

Nothing is off limits: walk along the ancient pilgrim’s route of the Way of St James, or treat yourself to some delicious Basque inspired tapas and pintxo dishes in Bilbao – all on the same day.

Also, visiting the autonomous cities of Ceuta and Melilla, and popping in exotic Morocco or Tangier is just a short sea voyage across the Mediterranean – so sit back, relax and enjoy the views.

Say, are you still in doubt as to why Ronda is Andalusia’s best kept secret and a world-class retreat?
